Gerhard Mack is a proven technology and network specialist with more than 30 years of management experience in the telecommunications industry. From 2016 to 2023, Gerhard was Managing Director of Vodafone Germany, initially as Chief Commercial Operations Officer and since 2018 as CTIO. In this role, he successfully launched Germany's first 5G network and enabled 24 million households to surf at gigabit speeds via the cable network. Prior to that, he helped build up the internet business at Europe's largest cable network operator Kabel Deutschland from the outset and, following its takeover by Vodafone, was in charge of its integration into Vodafone as COO. He began his career at Alcatel (now Nokia), where he most recently worked as General Manager of the Optical Networks Division.

Since leaving Vodafone, Gerhard has brought his experience to metrofibre as Executive Chairman. metrofibre is a fast-growing FttH operator with a focus on urban areas, funded by DIF capital Partners.

Gerhard holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering and a Master's degree in Business Administration.
